Started as a Physical Education teacher in secondary school for 6 years. Received a Master's degree (Physical Education) from UPM in 2000. In 2002, began serving as a Physical Education lecturer at the Faculty of Education, University of Malaya. Then in 2007, went on to pursue Doctor of Philosophy at UPSI in the field of Sports Science Education and graduated in 2012. Currently, serving as a Physical Education and Health lecturer for undergraduate education, diploma education, master, and doctor of philosophy programs. At the same time, conducting the supervision of master and doctorate students. Has authored several books and chapters related to Physical Education and Health. Also, wrote articles that have been published locally and abroad. Besides, also conducted researches related to Physical Education and Health. The results of the researches have been presented in national and international seminars and conferences.
show more »NORAINI AHMAD obtained her BSc (Hons) in Applied Chemistry from the Universiti Malaya in 2003. In 2008, she received her MSc in Colloid and Surface Chemistry, while in 2012 she obtained her PhD in Physical Chemistry, both from the Universiti Malaya. During her PhD studies, she went for a research attachment at the Instituto de Química Avanzada de Cataluña - Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (IQAC-CSIC), Barcelona, Spain in 2010-2012 funded by the InForm Project, EU-FP7 and the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) Malaysia. Her journey and experience led her to be selected as a Nanobiotechnology Scientist/Expert representing Malaysia at the Workshop of Scientists from Russia and the ASEAN Countries - Nanobiotechnology: Achievement and Scope held in Vladivostok, Russia in 2015. Formerly, she was a lecturer at the Centre for Foundation Studies, International Islamic University Malaysia (CFS IIUM) for more than 3 years before joining Universiti Malaya in 2008. After obtaining her PhD, she was appointed as a Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya in 2012 and was later promoted to a Senior Lecturer in 2013. Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya. She is currently holding a number of major administrative duties, namely:1. Director, Universiti Malaya Community Engagement Centre (UMCares)2. Coordinator, Formulation and Product Development Unit, Centre for Natural Products Research and Drug Discovery (CENAR), Universiti Malaya3. STEM Representative of the Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya STEM Centre Additionally, she has broad experience as a Deputy Director of the Universiti Malaya Community Engagement Center (UMCares)(2022-2024), in which previously as a Fellow of UMCares (2019-2021). In addition, she has been honored and invited as a Visiting Professor at several universities internationally. She has also been invited as a keynote speaker and invited speaker at several international conferences. Her areas of expertise are in Physical Chemistry (colloid chemistry, liquid crystal, surfactant, self-assembly structure, green chemistry, chemical kinetics), Nanomaterials Formulation and Drug Delivery Systems. Her research interests are focused on the formulation of nanocarrier systems based on lipids and other surfactants for pharmaceutical, medical, cosmeceutical, and nutraceutical applications. Moreover, she has been awarded several internal and external research grants as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator (>MYR12,000,000). Besides, she has won numerous awards nationally and internationally. Apart from teaching and research, Noraini is also an active member in her university, holding a number of administrative posts, technical committee member and research grants evaluator. She is also actively involved in various social activities / programmes at the national and international level.
show more »Jeannie Wong studied Biomedical Engineering, followed by a Master of Medical Physics at the Universiti Malaya. She received her PhD from the University of Wollongong, Australia. She started her career at the Department of Biomedical Imaging, Faculty of Medicine, the University of Malaya, as a senior lecturer in 2011. She coordinates the UM Master of Medical Physics programme, which is accredited by the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM), UK. It is the only postgraduate medical physics programme outside the UK and Ireland that has this accreditation. During her PhD study, she was instrumental in the development of a new field of medical dosimetry in radiation therapy quality assurance with high spatial resolution semiconductor dosimetry and its applications in radiation therapy quality assurance. She has since further extended her research to include dosimetry in diagnostic imaging and patient-specific dosimetry. She has published more than 80 papers to date. She was promoted to associate professor in 2018 and full professorship in 2024. Her research interests include radiation dosimetry, radiotherapy, medical imaging and radiomics. She had supervised 1 postdoctoral candidate, 15 PhD students (7 completed), 3 masters by research students (2 completed), and more than 54 masters by coursework students (49 completed). Dr Wong has vast experience in the teaching of physics and biostatistics at the postgraduate level. She has been involved as a lecturer and examiner for the Master of Radiology and Master of Clinical Oncology at the University of Malaya since 2012. Her research interests are radiation dosimetry, medical imaging, radiotherapy and radiomics. IN 2019, she received the Southeast Asian Federation of Organizations of Medical Physics (SEAFOMP) Young Leader Award.
