Dr Hala Fathalla Benghasheer obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Benghazi, Libya, in 2007. She later pursued postgraduate studies in Malaysia, earning a Master of Dental Science (MDSc) from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in 2013, followed by a Master of Community Oral Health (MCOH) and a Doctor of Dental Public Health (DrDPH) from the University of Malaya (UM), completed in 2020.

Dr Hala began her academic career as a clinical instructor at the University of Benghazi, where she was actively involved in undergraduate teaching and clinical supervision from 2012 to 2016. She later resumed her academic role as a lecturer in the Preventive and Dental Public Health Department at the same institution in 2022. She is currently a lecturer in the Department of Community Oral Health and Clinical Prevention at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya.                                                Dr Hala is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research supervision, and academic assessment. She also serves as a reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals. Her research interests include preventive dentistry, oral epidemiology, and oral health-related quality of life.
