PERSONAL DETAILS
BIOGRAPHY

Mohd Zaidi Md Zabri is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Malaya. He holds a Ph.D. from the Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIiBF), International Islamic University Malaysia (‘fun’ fact: he was dismissed from the same university 15 years before his Ph.D. graduation). After such a valuable ‘learning experience,’ he finally made his mother shed tears of joy when he received the Anugerah Naib Canselor (Vice-Chancellor’s Award) during his diploma and undergraduate studies at Universiti Teknologi MARA.

His current research interest includes (but are not limited to) Islamic social finance and Islamic financial literacy. He truly believes that an individual with basic Islamic finance knowledge would not fall victim to get-rich-quick schemes (the latest figure from the Royal Malaysian Police puts the number at a whopping RM914 million during the first 6 months of 2020 alone).

Apart from his academic endeavors, he tries to share whatever little knowledge he has via media appearances such as the Selamat Pagi Malaysia (RTM) program and writings in the Utusan Malaysia, Harian Metro, New Straits Time, and The Malaysian Insight.
