Dr. Yamunah Devi Apalasamy holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology (Pharmacogenomics) and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Hons) from the Universiti Malaya. Her key areas of research include Biomedical Research, Pharmacogenomics, Ageing, Dementia, Non-communicable Diseases, and Survey Methodology. Dr. Yamunah Devi has played a key role in national survey initiatives, most notably the Malaysian Ageing and Retirement Survey (MARS), an international network of the Health and Retirement Study (HRS), United States, where she contributes her expertise in survey research design, survey system management, data analytics, field implementation, and policy translation. Her work supports evidence-based policymaking for Malaysia’s ageing population and contributes to broader health and social policy development. Her career reflects a strong commitment to translational research, public health advancement, and the integration of science, policy, and practice to improve population wellbeing. |
