Dr. B. Vengadaesvaran was born on March 18, 1973 in Ipoh, Malaysia. He obtained B.Sc (Hons), M.Tech., and Ph.D. degrees in Advanced Materials (Protective Coating Synthesis) from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in 1997, 1999, and 2004, respectively. He joined NANOCAT University Malay in 2005. Since 2007, Senior Research Officer in Centre for Ionics University of Malaya, Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, University of Malaya. He has joined UM Power Energy Dedicated Advanced Center (UMPEDAC), in year 2017 as senior research officer with gred Q52. Dr. B. Vengadaesvaran is the Research Director for Advanced Materials Science Laboratory in Institute of Postgraduate Studies and Research in University of Malaya. He is also a research consultant for Daikin Malaysia Sdn Bhd and also for Silverfil dental Products Sdn Bhd. He has been successful in securing substantial funds for research as co-researcher from University of Malaya (UMRG and UMRP) and Malaysian government funding agencies (FRGS), industrail grant from DAIKIN MALAYSIA and High performing Flexible thin polymer electrolyte for safer and more sustainable electrical applications (CREST GRANT), Private Funding, (2018 – 2021), (RM458,500.00), as Co-Investigator. He has got 1 Malaysia patent filed for his credit. He is also a senior member in leading professional associations. He has received several awards and medals in participating international technological expo including ITEX, MTE, PECIPTA and BioMalaysia. He won the Best of the Best in electrical and electronics category at PECIPTA 2013. Recently he won The Best Award in MTE 2016 & MTE 2019 with gold medal and Silver Medal in PECIPTA 2019. He has involved in organizing international conferences (ICFMD 2013, 2015 Solar Asia 2013) and participated as panel of judges in national science fair for children. Experience of research and teaching in advanced materials. Long Research service experience in nano synthesis, hybrid organic coating, heat resistance coating, self-cleaning hydrophobic coating and solar panel industries. Fourteen years research experiences in research centers such as NANOCAT, CIUM and UMPEDAC. Have vast experience in organizing Scientific International Conference in CIUM. Published 50 technical papers in National and International Journals and Conference Proceedings, published 1 book chapters and chief guest editor for Pigment and Resin Technology Journal. Currently involved and expertise on, Nano-particles synthesis, nano-particle characterization, synthesis of composite organic coating for corrosion prevention, antifouling coating, self-cleaning hydrophobic coating, polymer electrolyte renewable energy etc.
