BIOGRAPHY


Dr. TANG Tuck Cheong joined the Department of Economics and Applied Statistics, Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya on February 17, 2014. Prior to this, he first served the School of Business, Monash University Malaysia as tutor in July 2001, and surrendered his senior lecturer post at February 14, 2014. He taught several undergraduate courses. He received his PhD degree in Economics from Monash University, Australia (supervised by Dietrich Karl Fausten) in 2012 which accompanied by Mollie Holman Doctoral Medal. He recorded an impressive volume of articles published in refereed journals to his credit, and presented his research findings in many conferences around the world. The field of his research is open economy macroeconomics including international trade related topics such as imports demand function, sustainability of balance of payments component, and so on. He involves actively in professional services such as the editorial advisory board of Labuan Bulletin of International Business and Finance, International Journal of Management Studies, and as associate editor for Journal of Economic Development. He is regularly invited internationally recognized journals, as reviewer. More casually, he used to ba a collector for collectable toys (i.e transformers, action figures, designer toys, etc), and is a martial artist#Wing Chun.
