MISS ZHAO WANZHEN

Zhao Wanzhen
China Director, Kong Zi Institute, Universiti Malaya

Ms. Zhao Wanzhen is the China Director of the Kong Zi Institute at Universiti Malaya. Since her appointment in December 2023, she has overseen administrative and financial management, teacher supervision, program planning, and the implementation of Chinese language teaching and cultural exchange activities across Malaysia. She also leads collaborations with local institutions, government agencies, and community partners to expand Mandarin education and promote cultural understanding.

Ms. Zhao has more than a decade of professional experience in international Chinese education. She has taught at Universiti Malaya, Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM), vocational colleges, and various corporate and government agencies, including PETRONAS, Immigration Malaysia, and China Construction Bank. She has also organized major cultural and academic events such as the Chinese Bridge competitions, the Hanfu and Chinese Motifs Exhibition, and regional teacher training programs.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Malaysian Languages (Hons.) and a Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (Hons.) from Beijing Foreign Studies University. A trilingual educator fluent in Mandarin, Malay, and English, Ms. Zhao brings creativity, leadership, and cross-cultural expertise to her work, contributing to the strengthening of Chinese language education and cultural exchange between China, Malaysia, and Southeast Asia.
