Dr. Purabi Mazumdar is a senior lecturer at Centre for Research in Biotechnology for Agriculture (CEBAR), University of Malaya. She obtained her master's degree in Botany at Gauhati University and Doctoral degrees in the field of Bioenergy from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), India. She qualified State Level Eligibility Test for Lectureship Commission, Government of India, 2007 and Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2007 in Life Sciences and availed fellowship from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India (2007-2012) at IITG. Dr Purabi was employed by UM as a postdoctoral research fellow and then a research fellow before taking up the senior lecturer position. Her current research pursues to improve the nutritional quality of crops using radiation, agronomic, molecular and biochemical approaches. She is involved in projects supported by grants from MoHE and Industries. Her ongoing research projects involve fertigation and crop protection, urban farming (aquaponics, hydroponics, aeroponics) working towards a key research question: How do we achieve sustainable, nutrient-dense and clean food and agriculture systems which promote health and well-being for all humans?
