BIOGRAPHY


Mohd Zieauddin Kufian (M.Z. Kufian) is a materials scientist specializing in research fields related to polymer electrolytes and electrode materials in energy devices, particularly in the domains of Li-ion batteries, Li-air batteries, dual-carbon batteries, and electrochemical double-layer capacitors. He currently holds an impressive h-index of 16 with 761 citations. M.Z.Kufian possesses expertise in lithium-ion battery manufacturing processes tailored for laboratory-scale applications. M.Z.Kufian further enriched his knowledge through a battery technology training program in Hamburg, Germany, organized by EL-Cell GmbH, as well as advanced training in the development of electrospinning for laboratory purposes, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Natarajan from IIT Madras, India. In the year 2022, he was appointed as a Visiting Professor at the Namagan Institute of Engineering and Technology in Uzbekistan.

Aligning with the University of Malaya's strategic focus on leveraging existing expertise and assets to generate financial resources, M.Z. Kufian has initiated a research service dedicated to battery performance measurement. This service is based at the Battery Testing Measurement laboratory within the Centre for Ionics at Universiti Malaya (C.I.U.M).

He also has been awarded at numerous innovation exhibitions, including ITEX, BioMalaysia, MTE, and PECIPTA.
