BIOGRAPHY

Mohd Edil Abd Sukor is an Associate Professor at the Department of Finance, Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya and currently the Deputy Dean (Student Affairs) of the faculty. He is also a Chairman of Shariah Committee for the Mizuho Bank Malaysia and a committee member of the Malaysian Finance Association. He holds a PhD in finance from the University of Melbourne, Australia, an MBA from International Islamic University Malaysia and a Bachelor of Shariah from Universiti Malaya. He was a Visiting Fellow at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies and a past awardee of the 2003 Academy of Islamic Studies Universiti Malaya’s Best Student Award. His research interests include Islamic finance, capital market and consumer finance. He has received several research grants including one from the Johor Corporation Foundation Malaysia to develop a social and financial literacy manual for primary school students. Additionally, he is also an Associate Editor of the Capital Market Review journal.
