BIOGRAPHY


Dr. Mario Arturo Ruiz Estrada (Guatemalan) is currently head of the centre of latin america studies (CLAS) at the University of Malaya (UM), which he joined in April 2020. Prior to joining University of Malaya, he was a tenured senior lecturer at Universidad de San Carlos at Guatemala. Dr. Mario Arturo Ruiz Estrada has a Ph.D. in economics from University of Malaya, and his main research fields are policy modeling, Econographicology, international trade, and development economics. His research, which has been published extensively in journals such as Journal of Policy Modeling, Disasters, Quality & Quantity, Singapore Economic Review, Futures, and Contemporary Economics, revolves around policy-oriented topics relevant for Asia’s long-term development, including the policy modeling, natural disasters evaluation, and food security Asia’s.
