BIOGRAPHY


 Dr. Mahmud Bin Sayeed is a Senior Lecturer in Language and Literacy Education at the Faculty of Education, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He holds a BA and MA degrees in Arabic Language and Literature from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh; MA in Islamic Studies with a specialization in Islam and Pluralism from Loughborough University, United Kingdom; an MPhil in Qur’anic Sciences from the Islamic University of Bangladesh; and an International Diploma in Teacher Education from Cairo, Egypt. Dr. Bin Sayeed completed his PhD in Education at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.

His research interests include Arabic Language Education, Islamic Education, Teacher Education, Teacher Identity, and Qur’anic Language Education. He has published articles in international peer-reviewed journals and has published books and other academic publications.

Dr. Mahmud is actively engaged in educational and charitable initiatives globally. He has contributed through iQra International, a London-based charity. He is the Founding President of the UK Research and Education Centre (UKREC), Birmingham, United Kingdom, and the Founder of AQABA (Al-Qur’ān Academy Barishal) in Barishal, Bangladesh.

He has presented 23 research papers at international conferences and symposiums held in the United Kingdom, United States, Malaysia, Turkey, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, and Finland.
