BIOGRAPHY


Kae Yi TAN is based at the Protein and Interactomics Laboratory, Department of Molecular Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya. Dr. Tan graduated from the National University of Malaysia with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biochemistry in 2012 and a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine from the University of Malaya in 2017. He is the co-principal investigator of the Venom Research and Toxicology Laboratory (VetoxLab). His scientific interests cover various aspects of venom toxinology, including -omics studies of venomous snake, antigenicity of venom toxins, and snakebite diagnostics. He serves as the principal investigator on multiple research projects, and the research findings have been presented at numerous scientific conferences and published in numerous peer-reviewed journals. He and his team work closely with local and international experts that share a passion in translating scientific knowledge into scientific applications. He is currently the Honorary Treasurer of the Malaysian Society on Toxinology and is dedicated to community scientific outreach activities.
