DR. NURZATIL SHARLEEZA BINTI MAT JALALUDDIN

Dr. Nurzatil Sharleeza is a senior lecturer at Department of Science and Technology Studies, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya. She obtained her Bachelor and Doctoral degrees in the field of Biotechnology from The University of Queensland, Australia. During her studies, she received multiple research scholarships, including University of Queensland Summer Research Scholarship (2009/2010) and (2010/2011), and UQ IMB Undergraduate Research Award (2010), and was selected as a member of Advanced Studies Program in Science (ASPinS) - which is a highly selective program for UQ undergraduates. Earning these awards gave Dr Nurzatil an opportunity to involve in multidisciplinary research projects related to membrane-targetting vancomycin and carbapenem derivatives tagged with short peptides and lipophilic elements, photosensitisers for cancer imaging and nanopolymers for siRNA delivery.Due to her passion in technology commercialization, she pursued Doctor of Biotechnology and secured an internship position at UniQuest (Australia) and IBD (Malaysia). She then was offered a position as a postdoctoral research fellow at CEBAR UM for 2.5 years and then she worked at the Academy of Sciences Malaysia as a project manager for the Malaysia Open Science Platform (MOSP). Although no longer managing the Project, Dr Nurzatil is still attached to Open Science as an ex-officio member of MOSP Alliance, and a member of UM Open Science Steering Committee and the UM Open Science Coordinator. Dr Nurzatil was a member of Global Young Academies Working Group on Open Science, and led the FAIR Data Stewardship Guidelines for Reproducibility in Biodiversity Research project. Currently, she is a member of International Data Policy Committee (IDPC) CODATA and a member of OPEN ASIA ERASMUS+ project.  Dr Nurzatil's research interests include social and governance of emerging technology, food systems, and Responsible Research Innovation.

PROF. DR. KIM SEON HAHN

Seon-Hahn KIM, MD, PhD, FACS  Dr. Kim Seon Hahn is Professor and Consultant colorectal surgeon working at Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as his new academic position appointed in Sep 2022. He had been Professor of Colorectal Division, Department of Surgery at Korea University Anam Hospital, Korea University College of Medicine, Seoul, Korea (2006-2022). He has been specifically interested in robotic and minimally invasive surgery and surgical anatomy in the colorectum during the past 30 years.   Prof. Kim has performed more than 3500 laparoscopic colon and rectal resections and over 1000 robotic rectal resections, mainly for cancer. He performed many live robotic and laparoscopic surgeries at various international congresses and at oversea hospitals. He was honored to give several orations such as; the ‘BJS Lecture’ at the 2015 Congress of European Society of Coloproctology in Dublin, the very first ‘Yasunobu Tsujinaka Memorial Oration’ at the 27th Annual Jagelman/37th Turnbull International Colorectal Symposium 2016 held in Florida, ‘The William Hugh Isbister Lecture’ at the 2019 Saudi-International Colorectal Diseases Forum in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and ‘Dr. Pradeep Chowbay Oration’ at Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES) 2023 Midterm Conference in Bhopal, India.   Prof. Kim was the Founding President of Korean Association of Robotic Surgeons (KAROS, 2013-15) and the Chairman of the Korean Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons (KSELS, 2014-16). He was awarded the Yeoh Ghim Seng Professor of Surgery by National University of Singapore (2008-14), and Dr. Anthony PC Yim Professorship in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Innovative Technology by Chinese University of Hong Kong (2011). He has been also invited as visiting professor/scholarship worldwide, including Cleveland Clinic Cleveland, OH, USA (2009), Royal Brisbane Hospital in Australia (2011), National Cheng Gong University in Taiwan (2012/2015), Kumamoto University in Japan (2013), Karolinska Institute Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden (2015/2017), and University of Western Sydney, Australia (2018-2024).

DR. MUHAMMAD SHAZRIL IDRIS BIN IBRAHIM

IBRAHIM, Muhammad Shazril I. is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya. He is a registered Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia and Engineers Australia, and a registered Graduate Technologist with MBOT. He is a past awardee of  the AUN-SEED Net JICA Scholarship Program where he received his M.Eng degree at Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, an alumnus of the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia for his Doctoral Degree in Coastal Engineering  and a past recipient of the UQ Candidature Development Award where he had an industrial engagement with the Department of Irrigation and Drainage, Malaysia for several national-interest projects such as Kuala Pahang River Mouth Project, Centralised GIS Database and Integrated Shoreline Management Plan (ISMP). His recent research interests focus on the processes of wave and swash overtopping, which include the application of positive volume flux and deficit in the freeboard scaling through a series of physical and numerical modelling works, coastal protection works, navigation analysis via GIS application, and AI application in coastal processes.
