PROF. DR. GAN CHIN SENG

Dr. Gan Chin Seng is a consultant paediatrician, a paediatric intensivist and a professor at Department of Paediatrics, University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), University of Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur. Dr Gan joined University of Malaya since 2007. He has been working in paediatric ICU since then. He did two years of clinical fellowship in PICU at Birmingham Children Hospital in the UK from 2012 to 2014. He is the vice president of Paediatric Chapter of Malaysian Society of Intensive Care (MSIC) since 2023. He is also an active member of Paediatric Acute & Critical Care Medicine Asian Network (PACCMAN) since 2015 and actively participating & collaborating in paediatric critical care research in this region. He is one of executive committee members of PACCMAN since 2023. 

He has been invited to speak and share on his key areas of expertise at various conferences and scientific meetings. His areas of expertise are in general paediatrics, paediatric & neonatal critical care in both medical and surgical related conditions, advanced paediatric resuscitation & organ stabilization, invasive & non-invasive mechanical ventilation. He is also a national trainer of PALS, APLS, MPLS, Paediatric BASIC courses. His research interest are: congenital diaphragmatic hernia, HIE, meconium aspiration syndrome, severe pneumonia, acute lung injury/ acute respiratory distress syndrome, hospital acquired infection, paediatric and neonatal resuscitation, upper airway obstruction, severe bronchial asthma, paediatric sepsis and severe dengue.
