BIOGRAPHY
Dr Faiz Baharudin is a medical doctor by profession, graduated with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Universiti Malaya in 2013. He continued his postgraduate study in Master of Public Health (MPH) at the same university in 2017 and graduated with Distinction. He then pursued his doctorate study in Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) and developed special interest in Occupational Medicine and Sport Medicine field especially in musculoskeletal disorder, musculoskeletal injury, physical activity, and physical fitness area. Apart from that, he has also completed both Diploma in Sports Medicine and Diploma in Sports Management by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Currently, Dr Faiz serves as the Director of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Centre (OSHEC) at Universiti Malaya and the Head of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment (OSHE) Unit at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. He also practices as the Occupational Health Physician at the UMMC Occupational Health Clinic where he served since 2015.
He is a certified Occupational Health Doctor (OHD), certified Medical Impairment Assessor (CMIA), Medical Review Officer (MRO) and Ergonomic Trained Person (ETP). He had experience as the Team Doctor for Malaysia National Basketball Team in several international championships such as Southeast Asia Basketball Association (SEABA) Championship, Southeast Asian (SEA) Games Championship and FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers. Currently, he serves as the founding chairman of MABA Medical Committee since 2020 and the member of FIBA Asia Medical Committee since 2023.
