DR. ZULHELMI BIN AMIR

Dr. Zulhelmi Amir is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. He received his BEng in Chemical Engineering from Yamagata University, Japan, and MEngSc in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Malaya in 2016. He received his PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS in 2020. His research interests include enhanced oil recovery, geological carbon storage, completion and drilling fluids, and flow assurance, with a particular focus on developing innovative materials and processes that support more sustainable oil and gas operations. Zulhelmi has published in Web of Science-indexed journals and presented his research at numerous international conferences, including those organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). In addition to his research activities, he teaches undergraduate courses in chemical engineering and actively supervises research projects that bridge academic knowledge with industry needs. Since 2024, he has served as the Undergraduate Programme Coordinator for the Chemical Engineering programme at Universiti Malaya. He is also actively involved in academic and industry engagement and welcomes opportunities for research collaboration and strategic partnerships.
