DR. ZATI HAKIM BINTI AZIZUL HASAN

Dr Zati currently serves as Coordinator at Pusat Teknologi Inovasi under the DVC P&I. She coordinated the Master of Computer Science (Research) and Master of Computer Science (Applied Computing) programs (2021–2025). Her research focuses on AI robotics, swarm optimisation, and soft sensor technologies, with applications in search and rescue, food security, intelligent farming, water monitoring, and genomics. She has secured over RM 2 million in research funding and, in 2025, was awarded RM8.5 million under MOHE's RMK12 RP5, for UM AI Robotics T&L Empowerment Project—a landmark initiative advancing national education and innovation agendas. She has published in Swarm and Evolutionary Computation, IEEE Access, and PeerJ Computer Science, and collaborates internationally with UK and ASEAN partners, supported by Microsoft AI for Earth, the British Council Catalyst Grant, and UKRI. She leads talent development through Robotedge (UM’s AI Robotics Lab), where her students won awards at RoboCup Asia Pacific, IEEE Malaysia competitions, and international innovation carnivals. She also consulted ThinkCity for their KitaK2K community engagement promoting equal access to robotics education for children in public housing (PPR).
