(PHD (2014), IJAZAH SARJANA (2007), IJAZAH SARJANA MUDA (2004))
Dr Zati is now a Coordinator at the Technology Innovation Centre under DVC P&I and previously coordinated the Master of Computer Science (Research) and the Master of Computer Science (Applied Computing) programs (2021–2025). Her research spans AI robotics, swarm optimisation, and soft sensor technologies, applied to search and rescue, food security, intelligent farming, water monitoring, and genomics. She has secured over RM2 million in funding and, in 2025, received RM8.5 million under MOHE’s RMK12 RP5 for the UM AI Robotics T&L Empowerment Project, advancing the national AI education blueprint. She has published in Swarm and Evolutionary Computation, IEEE Access, and PeerJ Computer Science, and collaborates with UK and ASEAN partners, supported by Microsoft AI for Earth, the British Council Catalyst Grant, and UKRI. Her Robotedge AI Robotics Lab (https://www.robotedge.dev/) mentors award‑winning students at international robot competitions and engages underprivileged children in public housing (PPR) (see ThinkCity’s KitaK2K initiative).
