Professor Dr. Che Zarrina Sa’ari is a Professor in the Department of Usuluddin and Dakwah, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Universiti Malaya and PhD from the University of Edinburgh. She has served as Head of the Department of Aqidah & Islamic Thought, Deputy Director of Development & Research, and Deputy Dean of Research & Innovation. Her areas of expertise include Sufism, Islamic Psychospiritual and Psychotherapy. She has produced more than 450 scholarly publications and is active as a keynote, plenary and invited speaker and trainer at national and international levels. In her supervisory role, she has produced 60 master’s and 68 doctoral graduates. In research, she has secured more than 130 grants, contributing to the development of modules, manuals, guidelines, curricula, policies, and fatwas. She has been appointed as an expert panel member for various well-known institutions and as the Editor-in-Chief of AFKAR, indexed in SCOPUS and WoS-ESCI. Her contributions are evident in her involvement with JAKIM and in the development of Islamic Psychospiritual interventions for the community.
