Dr. Yeoh Yin Yin is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chinese Studies, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, Universiti Malaya. Her academic expertise lies in Chinese Philology and Linguistics. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Universiti Malaya, followed by a Master’s degree from Peking University, China, and a PhD from National Taiwan University. This diverse academic background has shaped her multilingual and cross-regional approach to linguistic research. Her research interests encompass: Malaysian Chinese Dialects (Phonology and Evolution) Language Contact and Sociolinguistics Chinese Education Language and Culture Currently, Dr. Yeoh is spearheading research projects focused on Chinese dialects in Malaysia and the teaching and learning of Non-Chinese pupils in Chinese primary schools.
