Yew Hoong WONG is a Full Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Malaya, and Head of the Centre of Excellence for Future Sustainable Energy. A Professional Engineer (Malaysia), Chartered Engineer (UK), Fellow of IMechE and IEM, and Senior Member of IEEE, he specializes in electronic materials for energy applications. He has published over 150 WoS-indexed papers, book chapters, and patents, and collaborates actively with industry. Prof. Wong has secured 48 funded projects worth over RM 8 million, serving as Principal Investigator for 25 of them. He also serves on editorial boards, evaluates national and international grants, and assesses engineering programs. His significant contributions to engineering research and professional practice have earned numerous recognitions, including the prestigious Anugerah Tokoh Muda Kejuruteraan Negara (National Young Engineering Icon) 2023 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
