Lau Wee Yeap is Professor at the Faculty of Business and Economics and academic board member of Asia-Europe Institute. He was MEXT Scholar at University of Osaka, AUA Scholar at UAEU, Visiting Scholar at NUS RMI, Wenzao Ursuline University, and a recipient of NTL Fellowship. He also attended Education Program at the Bendheim Center for Finance, Princeton University. In addition to Doctoral Student Award at AsianFA/FMA Conference in Taipei (2004), Kuala Lumpur (2005) and Auckland (2006), he received IJBF Best Paper Award at 23rd, 24th and 27th Malaysian Finance Association International Conference, Best Paper Award from Institute for Capital Market Research Malaysia (2023), 15th MAPIM-KPT Best Journal Paper Award in Humanities and Social Sciences-National Index (2024), National Book Award (2025) from Yayasan Pembangunan Negara  and CMR Best Paper Award (2025). He has authored books for Palgrave Macmillan, World Scientific, Springer Nature, Malaysian Insurance Institute,  and edited books for University Press, in addition to 90 articles indexed in WoS collection.
