Associate Professor Dr Wan Nurazreena Wan Hassan is a Consultant Orthodontist at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya, whose scholarship bridges digital dentistry with outcomes science and psychometrics, especially oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL). Her leadership in dental education is demonstated by pivoting roles as Deputy Dean (Postgraduate), previously Deputy Dean (Undergraduate) and Head of Department (cum Year 5 Leader, BDS), and Coordinator of the Orthodontic Postgraduate Programme, where she has led curriculum design and quality, assessment reform, and learner outcomes. Clinically, she integrates UK training (Cardiff, Wales) with mini-preceptorship in Korea and mini-residency in Japan to manage complex orthodontic cases, including cleft and craniofacial care, orthognathic surgery pathways, and obstructive sleep apnoea, translating multi-country best practices into Malaysian settings. Nationally, she serves on the Dental Specialist Evaluation Committee (DSEC) of the Malaysian Dental Council and contributes to evidence-based care, such as the Clinical Practice Guidelines on Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA), as well as orthodontic clinical trials. Internationally, she is an Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Glasgow (MOrth Part II; MFDS RCSEng). Her academic influence is reflected by a H-index of 11 (WOS) and 266 citations. She continues to extend her roles in research through supervision of more than 23 postgraduates (9 completed PhD/Clinical Doctorate/Clinical Masters; 5 completed masters; 6 ongoing PhD/Clinical Doctorate; 3 ongoing masters) and 15 undergraduate elective project pairs, leads competitive grants, and publishes widely on patient-centred outcomes, digital workflows, quality measurement, and dental education.
