Dr. Tay Sun Tee received her basic training in molecular biology and medical microbiologyfrom the University of Malaya. Her current research focus is on the development ofmolecular methods for accurate identification and strain differentiation of fungal andbacterial pathogens. She has experience working on bacterial arthropod-borne diseasesand tropical infectious diseases including scrub typhus, spotted fever, melioidosis,candidiasis, and cryptococcosis. Her research group is also investigating the mechanism ofdrug resistance in medically important bacteria and fungi. She is also a reviewer for several journals.
