Professor Sr Ts. Dr. Syahrul Nizam bin Kamaruzzaman is a distinguished academic and industry leader in the Built Environment at Universiti Malaya. Holding a PhD from the University of Manchester, he has dedicated over two decades to advancing Building Performance, Facilities Management, Construction and Building Information Modelling (BIM). An influential researcher with over 200 publications, Dr. Syahrul has spearheaded national projects bridging the gap between scholars and industrial application. As a Registered Building Surveyor (RISM), Professional Technologist (MBOT) and Certified Facilities Management Manager (CIDB) his expertise is sought after by various government agencies. In recognition of his contributions, he was conferred the Order of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (S.I.S). Today, he continues to shape Malaysia’s construction landscape, championing the integration of AI and sustainable digital solutions in modern building management.
