Dr. Nursyahirah Mohd Shatar is a renewable energy researcher specializing in solar thermal desalination, thermoelectric cooling, and hybrid solar systems. With a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Malaya and international research experience, her work focuses on sustainable water and energy technologies that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. She has authored multiple Q1 journal publications in Desalination, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Renewable Energy, showcasing innovations in surface wettability, filmwise condensation, and hybrid energy systems for freshwater production. Dr. Nursyahirah has experience in interdisciplinary projects across academia and international research institutions, with a strong track record in experimental design, energy system modeling, and postgraduate supervision. Her career goal is to advance scalable, low-carbon technologies that improve water access and agricultural resilience in resource-constrained settings. She currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Malaya and is a certified HRDCorp trainer.
