Dr. Lai Siew Tim is a Clinical Psychologist and Lecturer at the Department of Psychological Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya. She obtained her Ph.D. in Psychology (Medicine) from the University of Malaya and holds master's degrees in Clinical and Health Psychology from USM-UPSI and the University of Stirling, UK. Her clinical and research work focuses on psychological interventions, neuropsychological assessment, and epilepsy-related mental health. Dr. Lai has collaborated extensively with the Neurology Unit (Epilepsy) at UMMC, contributing to cognitive assessment protocols and psychoeducation programs for people with epilepsy. Her doctoral work led to the development of a mindfulness-based intervention, with findings published in Epilepsy & Behavior; Seizure and presented internationally. She has over 7 years of research experience, has served as a reviewer for journals such as Neurology Asia and Seizure, and has won international awards, including the ILAE International Golden Light Award, ILAE Young Leadership Award. Dr. Lai is an active member of the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), Malaysian Society of Epilepsy, and Malaysian Society of Neurosciences. She is passionate about bridging clinical service, teaching, and community engagement to promote holistic mental healthcare and resilience among patients, caregivers, and the public.
