CURRICULUM VITAE

DR. TANG SWEE SEONG

(BSc (Hon)(Biochem)(UM), MSc (Microb)(UM), PhD (Molecular Microb) (ANU, Australia))
Dr. Tang Swee-Seong is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Science, University of Malaya. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Biochemistry and an M.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of Malaya and earned his PhD in Molecular Microbiology from the Australian National University in 2013. His research focuses on bacteriophage-based solutions against multidrug-resistant pathogens, particularly in human and aquatic animal health. He has led multiple research projects on bacteriophage isolation, characterization, and therapeutic applications, with a particular interest in polyvalent phages and phage cocktails for diagnostic and therapeutic use. Dr. Tang has served as an editorial board member for the Saudi Journal of Biological Sciences and reviews manuscripts for numerous international journals, including PLoS ONE, Microbial Drug Resistance, PeerJ, and Journal of Cellular Physiology. His research aims to advance phage therapy as a sustainable alternative to combat antimicrobial resistance.
