PROF. DR. SEE MEE HOONG

(Senior Lecturer)
Professor Dr. See Mee-Hoong is a senior lecturer at the University of Malaya and Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC). She graduated from UPM, obtained her Master of General Surgery from UM, and completed Breast Oncoplastic Training at Mahidol University, Thailand. She currently leads the Breast and Endocrine Surgery Unit at UMMC. A pioneer in Malaysia, Dr. See introduced 2D and 3D endoscopic nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) in 2019 and pioneer the FIRST MALAYSIA Robotic NSM with immediate implant reconstruction in 2025. Her clinical interests include oncoplastic surgery, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, ERAS, and intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT). She has published over 70 scientific papers and leads several clinical trials, including the TARGIT-B trial. Dr. See is also exploring AI applications in breast cancer diagnosis through a collaborative trial with Kyungpook National University, South Korea. She leads the Asian Breast Surgery Forum under Project ECHO®, connecting 12 countries, and serves as Deputy Head of the Visibility Unit, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya.
