Siti Aisyah Samudin is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Syariah and Law Department, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya, Malaysia. She graduated with a Diploma in Syariah and Islamic Jurisprudence with honors class one from the International Islamic University College of Selangor in 2011. In 2015, she was awarded a Bachelor Degree in Syariah and Law with honors class one from the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya. She completed her doctoral studies in 2019 at the same university in which she specialized in Islamic tort and Islamic criminal justice. Her areas of expertise and research interests are Islamic criminal law, social justice, negligence, tort and consumerism. Her research delves into the critical need for harmonizing Islamic law with existing compensation methods, including Malaysian law and insurance, to offer comprehensive protection to victims and their rights. Actively engaged in research and writing, she is dedicated to exploring and applying legal principles to ensure fairness and justice in safeguarding individual and collective rights. Her work also examines the pivotal role of insurance and takaful, as well as the potential of diyat in the realm of damages, making significant strides in the field of legal protection and compensation.
