Dr. Shahidra binti Abdul Khalil is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Fiqh-Usul and Applied Sciences, Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya. She holds a PhD (2015) and a Bachelor’s in Shariah (Fiqh and Usul) with distinction (2006) from the same university. Her expertise lies in Islamic Criminal Law, with research interests in Contemporary Fiqh Issues and Islamic jurisprudence. She has received various research grants at the national and university levels. She is active in both national and international initiatives and academic publishing, contributing as an editor for Jurnal Fiqh (Malaysia) and Jurnal al-Hukama (Indonesia).
