Dr Cheng Sit Foon is a Professor of Chemistry at Universiti Malaya and Head of the Unit of Research on Lipids. She has more than two decades of experience in oleochemistry and lipid chemistry, with research spanning palm value-added products and practical analytical methods. Her work has contributed to scientific publications, patents, postgraduate training and industry consultancy. She is a member of the Universiti Malaya Senate and contributes to curriculum development, programme accreditation and academic quality assurance. A Fellow and Registered Chemist of Institut Kimia Malaysia, Professional Technologist and HRD Corp Accredited Trainer, she also serves on the Council of the Malaysian Oil Scientists’ and Technologists’ Association and the Editorial Board of Malaysian Oil Science and Technology. Through OleoRangers, she promotes public understanding of oils and fats, sustainability and circular resource use.
