CURRICULUM VITAE

DR. SCOTT ADAM EDWARDS

(DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY)
My primary research interest is understanding how actors come together in response to novel security threats in the Indo-Pacific, including maritime and environmental security. This research centres on the international relations of Southeast Asia, analysing the dynamics of trust between states with a particular eye on collective security responses. A second interest is coordination within domestic architectures of maritime security governance, primarily in Southeast Asia but also including the UK, and how these influence international arrangements. I am extremely proactive in policy engagement, and am continually exploring how my work can inform policy debates. My pedagogical philosophy is grounded in the importance of active learning, and I have extensive experience in course delivery across a breadth of topics from Security Studies, International Relations, and Development Studies.
