Associate Professor Dr. Santha Chenayah is a distinguished economist with over 20 years of academic service, specializing in environmental economics, operations research, and sustainability. She holds a PhD and Master’s in Economics from Osaka University, Japan, and a BEc (Hons) from Universiti Malaya. Her prolific scholarship includes more than 40 publications in Web of Science, Scopus, and ESCI-indexed journals, earning her the Outstanding Paper Award from Emerald Literati (2019) and multiple Excellence Service Awards from Universiti Malaya. She has secured and led over 20 competitive research grants, including national-level FRGS and TRGS awards, and has contributed to international consultancies with the World Bank and MB Inc. Her leadership includes two terms as Head of the Department of Economics, over 70 committee appointments, and significant contributions to postgraduate curriculum development and quality assurance. Dr. Chenayah currently serves as Chief Editor of Institutions and Economies and Associate Editor of the Singapore Economic Review (2024–2026). As Honorary Secretary of the Malaysian Economic Association, she has actively represented Malaysia at Federation of ASEAN Economic Associations (FAEA) conferences across the region, fostering academic diplomacy and transnational collaboration.
