Dr Rumana A. Saifi holds a Doctorate of Philosophy in Demography and Masters in (1) Public Health (Epidemiology and Biostatistics) (2) Population and Reproductive Health Research and (3) Social science. Dr Saifi’s doctoral work aimed to contribute a better understanding of the complex interplay of migration, risk behaviour and disease pattern among Asian population. With academic training in demography and population health, Rumana A. Saifi has been working in the field of population health for the last 15 years in Asia-Pacific. Her major research expertise includes designing and conducting primary research projects, monitoring of outcomes, evaluation of programs, analyzing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data, designing and conducting large data collection surveys, managing and analyzing large data sets and data trend analysis. She has extensive experience in analyzing and summarizing data sets by using various statistical approaches. Dr Saifi’s current research portfolio considers a combination of social and epidemiological approaches for disease prevention, treatment and care. Her current research interest focuses on HIV prevention interventions, gap between HIV prevention efforts and the associated risk factors in key-affected populations. Rumana A. Saifi is keen on designing cost-effective and high impact interventions, with a policy-mark.
