Dr. Mohana Dass Ramasamy: Academic Profile Dr. Mohana Dass Ramasamy is a distinguished scholar with over 25 years of expertise in linguistics and Tamil studies. Beginning as a temporary teacher, he advanced his education at the University of Malaya, earning degrees in Indian Studies, History, and Linguistics, before completing his doctorate in Linguistics at Newcastle University (UK). His scholarly contributions are extensive, including multiple books, over 50 published articles, and participation in more than 75 conferences internationally. His research spans linguistics, historical linguistics, language borrowing, translation, Tamil education, and classical Tamil literature, with completed projects in phonology, lexical morphology, loanword phonology, translation studies, cognate analysis, and Tamil educational methodologies. As a mentor, he has supervised more than twelve postgraduate researchers across various specializations. He is proficient in Tamil, Malay, and English, with moderate literacy in Hindi and Sanskrit.
