Ir. Dr. Onn Chiu Chuen is an associate professor and researcher at the Department of Civil Engineering, Universiti Malaya. He holds a BSc. in Engineering (Environment), MSc, and PhD in Environmental Engineering from Universiti Malaya. Dr. Onn is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council UK. His research interests include Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), eco profiles, and environmental footprints, focusing on products/building materials, waste, energy, and transportation. He studies carbonation processes for carbon sequestration and reducing carbon footprints. Dr. Onn collaborates with SIRIM’s Environmental Technology Research Centre on the Malaysian Life Cycle Inventory Database (MYLCID) and serves as a technical expert for the Malaysia Climate Action Simulator. He has consulted for Unilever Foods (Malaysia), Daiki Axis Co. Ltd., Uber Malaysia, Malaysia Green Technology Corporation, Press Metal Aluminium Holdings, Panasonic R&D Singapore, TNBR, and Jabatan Audit Negara. His work includes developing the Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint (2021-2030) for the Ministry of Environment and Water (KASA).
