Norsiah Hashim (PhD, Malaya) is a Senior Lecturer at Centre for Foundation Studies in Sciences, Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. Before she started her academic career in UM, she has worked as a part-time lecturer at Telecom Training College (later known as TM Multimedia College) and Mathematics lecturer at UniKL-IIM (later known as UniKL-MIIT) in 2003-2004. She graduated with a BSc. in Industrial Mathematics, University Technology of Malaysia, Johor; MSc in Applied Mathematics at the same university; PhD in Applied Mathematics (Astrophysics), Universiti Malaya. During her PhD at the Radio Cosmology Research Laboratory, she received further training from a few schools in astronomy/astrophysics, i.e. International School for Young Astronomer (ISYA) in Kunming, China, Chiang Mai Winter School in Radio Astronomy, Observer Training & Data Reduction using IRAF at Asiago Observational Training for Students and etc. Her research interests include Applied Mathematics in Astrophysics: dark matter study, alternative of dark matter-Modified Newtonian Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) and fast radio burst; Statistical Analysis: nonlinear model fitting (Mathematica & Maple) and Approximation Theory: perturbation method. She is also keen in multidisciplinary research as she has involved in DIY research projects. She is a member of the International Astronomical Union (IAU): junior-individual membership; ordinary member of Malaysian Institute of Physics and life membership of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society. She currently act as a Deputy Director
