Norfadira Binti Wahib, Senior Lecturer at the University of Malaya’s Department of Physics, specializes in Radiation and Materials Physics with expertise in passive dosimetry, luminescent materials, and radiation–matter interactions in solid-state systems. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of New South Wales, Australia, and MSc and BSc degrees from the University of Malaya. Her research spans naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM), thermoluminescent and optical materials for environmental, industrial, and medical dosimetry, as well as next-generation optical data storage. She has published in reputable journals, presented internationally, and collaborated with leading institutions including UNSW, Sunway University, and Universiti Teknologi MARA. Her innovations in radiation detection materials have received recognition through multiple awards, including the Gold and Special Award at Malaysia Technology Expo (2025) and the Gold Award at the International Invention & Innovation Exhibition (2016). Her work aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals — SDG 3 (Health), SDG 9 (Innovation), and SDG 12 (Sustainability). Committed to mentoring future physicists and advancing interdisciplinary research, Norfadira’s long-term vision is to pioneer next-generation dosimetry systems and luminescent materials, thus enhancing healthcare systems, environment, etc.
