DR. NOR AZIZAH BINTI OTHMAN

Nor Azizah Binti Othman is an enthusiastic academic specializing in Malay Studies, with a strong emphasis on historical linguistics and cultural analysis. She completed her PhD at Goethe University Frankfurt in December 2023, where her dissertation investigated the 17th-century description of the Malay language by Thomas Bowrey. Currently, she works as a lecturer at the Faculty of Education, University of Malaya. Nor Azizah holds both an MA and BA in Malay Studies from the National University of Malaysia (UKM), focusing on changes in meaning across historical dictionaries. Her professional experience includes senior lecturer roles at various institutions, where she developed curricula and led academic initiatives. Additionally, she has published extensively in reputable journals on the socio-cultural implications of historical Malay dictionaries and actively participates in international conferences. Proficient in Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Indonesia, and English, she is committed to advancing the understanding of Malay language and culture through her scholarly work. Nor Azizah is eager to explore the beauty of Malay lexicography and historical linguistics, aiming to blend these interests within an educational framework.
