Dr.-Ing. Nurdiana Nordin is an interdisciplinary researcher and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Chemistry, Universiti Malaya, whose work bridges chemistry, engineering, and advanced technology to develop sustainable solutions for global challenges. She obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry from Universiti Malaya and earned her Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany. She leads FlexiHydro D’Lab, a dynamic research platform focused on smart functional materials, hydrogel technologies, microfluidic systems, and advanced biosensing platforms. Her research integrates physical chemistry, biomaterials, and green technology to develop impactful innovations for healthcare, agriculture, environmental monitoring, and water sustainability. Dr.-Ing. Nurdiana specializes in the fabrication and characterization of smart hydrogels, flexible sensing materials, optofluidic devices, and sustainable biomaterials. She also has extensive experience in advanced spectroscopic characterization, including multidimensional NMR, DOSY, NOESY, and exposure to advanced 1.2 GHz NMR technology for biomolecular studies. Recognized for her international scientific engagement, she was selected for the APEC Scientist Invitation Program (SIP). Through research, innovation, and mentorship, she is committed to translating scientific discoveries into practical technologies that contribute to sustainable development and improve the quality of life for communities worldwide.
