Ts. Dr. Soong Ming Foong received B.Eng. (Mechanical) from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia, and received Ph.D. from the same institution in 2015 with a specialization in vehicle and suspension dynamics. He had two years of post-doctoral researcher experience (2015-2017) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Malaya, working within the Advanced Computational and Applied Mechanics (ACAM) research group. He has been a senior lecturer of Universiti Malaya since 2018, and is currently affiliated to the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. He is also a professional technologist (Malaysia Board of Technologists, MBOT) in the field of automotive technology since 2022. Presently, his research interests cover intelligent vehicle suspension systems including inerter and semi-active suspension, vehicle modeling, ride and handling simulation, and optimization.
