Dr Megat Hafizzuddin Abd Hamid is an Oxford-trained immunologist specialising in the cellular immune mechanisms of human T cells across cancer and infectious disease. His expertise spans identification and characterisation of HLA-restricted antigen-specific T cells, immune functional assays, immunophenotyping, human and murine tissue processing, and multi-omics. He has a proven record of high-impact publication, including first-author work in Nature Immunology and Cancer Immunology Research, an h-index of 12 and more than 500+ citations. As Group Leader of the Tissue Immunology and Immunoinformatics Group at Universiti Malaya, he directs a portfolio of tropical disease- and cancer-focused programmes, in the hope to identify protective T cell targets in Malaysian populations to guide vaccine and immunotherapy development. As a senior lecturer, he is passionate in nurturing next generation of scientists and academician interested in immunology and biomedical sciences.
