Marniza Saad is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist and Associate Professor at Universiti Malaya, and currently serves as Head of the Department of Clinical Oncology. She obtained her Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in Clinical Oncology in the UK in 2006. As Head of Department, she spearheaded the establishment of advanced radiotherapy services (IMRT/SRT) and pioneered the multidisciplinary team (MDT) culture at UMMC. On a national level, she led the project that developed Malaysia's first unified National Postgraduate Curriculum for Clinical Oncology (NPCOM), an achievement that led to her appointment as an expert advisor for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in 2023. In her specialty of Genitourinary (GU) Oncology, she is a recognized Key Opinion Leader in the Asia-Pacific region. She serves on the Scientific Committee for ESMO Asia and is the National Principal Investigator for numerous landmark clinical trials, with publications in leading journals like the Annals of Oncology. She also contributes to national professional standards through her role on the Executive Committee of the Malaysian Oncological Society (MOS) and as an inaugural Council Member of the College of Oncology, Academy of Medicine Malaysia.
