CURRICULUM VITAE

DR. LIM LIAN KUANG

(Industry project consultant)
Dr. Lim Lian Kuang is currently a senior lecturer at Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya (UM) with expertise in the area of plasma research. His primary research revolves around investigating the radiations and fusion products generated from hot and dense transient plasma produced by Plasma Focus (PF) devices. Currently, he is actively seeking research opportunities in the utilization of plasma technology for cold plasma applications. Leveraging the network established, he successfully secured several local and external research grants as Principal researcher and Co-researcher in the field of pulsed plasma, plasma agriculture and disinfection research. So far, he has been successful in securing funding from the university, ministry and industry grants with several publications in ISI & WoS cited journal. The latest national grant was awarded from the ministry in 2023 for the research in the area of gas conversion using plasma approach. Other than research, he is also passionate towards excellence in teaching where he had successfully secured a research grant in education (UM-LITER 2021) and win a silver award at International Learning Improvement & Teaching Enhancement Conference (LITEC) 2021. Following the project's outcomes, he also obtained a patent for a copyrighted teaching and learning approach designed for asynchronous learning.
