Kok-Sing Lim received his B.Eng. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Malaya, in 2008 and his Ph.D. degree in Physics from the same university in 2012. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Photonics Research Centre, Universiti Malaya, and the founder of BeyondVISIBLE Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. His research interests include fibre Bragg gratings (FBGs), optical measurement and instrumentation, spatial-division multiplexing technologies, and multispectral imaging. He is currently actively involved in developing optical remote-sensing and imaging systems for oil palm fruit ripeness assessment. He is a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM), a Professional Engineer in Telecommunication registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), and a Senior Member of IEEE. He was the associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement (Q1, 2018-2022). In recognition of his contributions to optics and photonics, he received the ICO/ICTP Gallieno Denardo Award in 2020.
