Associate Professor Dr. Kim Keum Hyun is the Korean lecturer at University of Malaya and she has held the Head of Malaysia-Korea Research Center since 2014. As an academic, she belongs to the Department of Asian and European Languages, Faculty of Languages and Linguistics. Her areas of academic expertise are sociolinguistics and socio-cultural anthropology with research on languages, literature, socio-economic development and organizational culture. Her interest in cross-cultural studies has made her to conduct many researches on Korea and Malaysia such as traditional literature, impact of Korean Wave on Muslim youth, government roles in socio-economic development and women’s well-being and so forth. Holding management roles has given rise to her interest in international collaboration in research and publication which she has been bridging among Korean, Malaysian and Southeast Asian researchers and institutions. Her later publications are Sejong Korean 1 (2019), Variation of Asian Collectivistic Values and Its Impact on Intercultural Conflicts of Workers (2018), Dilema Pekerja Melayu dalam Budaya Syarikat Multinasional Korea di Malaysia (2017), and The Dynamics of South Korea's Relations with Asia-Pacific (2016).
