Kian-Ping Lim is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Business and Economics, Universiti Malaya. He holds a B.B.A. (Hons.) in Finance from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, an M.Sc. in Financial Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia, and a PhD from Monash University. His early research focused on nonlinearity in financial markets, before extending to evolving/relative market efficiency and the Adaptive Markets Hypothesis during his doctoral studies. Post-PhD, his work has expanded through doctoral supervision into several areas: stock liquidity, with a shift from firm-level to aggregate liquidity; corporate finance, with emphasis on blockholder governance; and international finance, advocating Bayesian-based approaches to market integration. His publications have been widely cited across Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Since 2010, he has consistently been ranked within the top five percent of Malaysian economists in IDEAS/RePEc. Globally, he is listed by ScholarGPS as a Highly Ranked Scholar within the top 0.05% in the specialty of “Stock”. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Malaysian Journal of Economic Studies and previously served as Deputy Dean at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (2010–2012) and Universiti Malaya (2016–2021).
