Associate Professor Dr. Khadher bin Ahmad is a faculty member at the Department of al-Quran and al-Hadith, Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya. He was born at Kampung Pondok Chegar, Pendang, Kedah, Malaysia. Dr. Khadher completed his early education locally before progressing to the Universiti Malaya, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Usuluddin (2005), a Master’s in Usuluddin with specialization in Hadith (2008) focusing on Sheikh Abd al-Samad al-Falimbani’s contributions, and a PhD in Hadith Studies (2012) with research on the analysis of hadith concerning black magic in the al-Kutub al-Sittah and its application in Islamic treatment centres in Malaysia. He works full-time at the Universiti Malaya and is known for his expertise in hadith studies, Islamic alternative medicine, digital hadith research, and thematic studies related to hadith. Dr. Khadher also serves in editorial roles for academic journals, including Editor-in-Chief of the Online Journal of Research in Islamic Studies and is part of international and institutional editorial teams. He aslo had been appointed as Deputy Dean (Student Affair) from 2023-2024 and currently as Deputy Dean (Undergraduate), at Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya.
