Dr. Karthikayini Krishnasamy is a senior nursing academic with over 28 years of experience in clinical practice, healthcare management, and education. She holds a PhD in Hospital Quality Management (Patient Safety) from the University of Malaya, with advanced qualifications in oncology and nursing administration. Her career includes key leadership roles in nursing and over three years as Coordinator in the Quality Department at University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC), where she led initiatives in patient safety, clinical governance, and EMR development—including early warning scores, fall and delirium assessments, and a House Officer dashboard. She has published widely in journals such as Age and Ageing, International Journal of Clinical Practice, and Disaster Medicine and Public Health Preparedness. Her research focuses on patient safety, geriatric care, fall prevention, and interprofessional collaboration. Dr. Karthikayini is a recipient of multiple local and international awards, including the Venus International Award for Excellence in Oncology Nursing. She is a member of the Nursing Board of Malaysia, Malaysian Nurses Association, and committee member of MSQH for patient safety (research & training).
